Newt Clears the Air

December 6, 2011 by Gerard M. Nadal

This evening, I received the following communication from Newt Gingrich’s communications director, which I believe clears the air and provides Mr. Gingrich with a way forward:

Hi Gerard,

Dan forwarded me your email.

To be clear, Newt believes that human life begins at conception, that is, at the moment of fertilization.

Does this help clarify?

Best,

Joe DeSantis

Okay! This is short and sweet. We need more communications like this from candidates!

Newt is a globalist, pure and simple.and has the record that proves it. No globalist will help this nation. No its typical double speak. Wake up people.

Any explanation as to why he explicitly said otherwise? Sounds to me like just telling everyone what they want to hear.

I’ll believe him when he calls Jake Tapper and officially corrects the record. Until then, life advocates are nuts to get suckered (again) into providing cover for a politician who would sell out the unborn to advance his own career ..

Agree with Paul…Newt Gingrich is known for changing positions is accord with that which will help him politically or make him some money. I wish I could trust him. But I do not. What will his war policy be!!! What will his relationship with bailouts and the federal reserve be!!! He is a through and through politician. Sorry.

    Patricia,

He’s far more pro-life than any of his peers, and even moreso than Obama. Even if his policies aren’t perfect, he can do great damage to the abortion industry. Given his mistaken notion that umbilical cord blood cells are a source of embryonic stem cells, I’m willing to throw him the benefit of the doubt on this one. I’m here to educate people regarding the truth of science and get them aboard with what science actually says about human identity. It doesn’t do to slap people down for having been mistaken.

    Gerard,

Even though he believes life begins at fertilization, one a questionnaire he did for National Right To Life, he stated that he is in favor of Exceptions for Rape & Incest, and those are not personhood positions.

Far more pro-life than Rick Santorum? Is that possible?

Thanks Scottie. I believe that answers the question. Newt is a Three Exceptions Republican. (i.e. more of the same.)

So, to people like Scott W and Scottie, is this an all or nothing approach. Either the candidate is prolife in every aspect or he/she is just not good enough?
