Today I was a guest on Janet Parshall’s radio show, In the Market with Janet Parshall. The interview starts about 8 minutes into the MP3. Click here for the MP3 to listen. Many thanks to Janet, and blessings for her interest in the ABC link and for taking a half hour of her show to help get the word out. Janet was a gracious host, and for any of her listeners who may have had questions and who are visiting today, please feel free to post your questions on this post, or any other here and I would be happy to answer them.
God Bless all at Moody Radio for the great work that you do!
My question was about the question Dr. Gerard said he would answer today talking about breast cancer. Dr Gerard was in the program of In the Market with Janet Parshall. The question was if there was risk of breast cancer in women who have premature babys. I don’t know where to find the answer or if I’m not in the right link. I remember him saying that it would be in his page today. Can you help me?
Thanks,
Dolores
Dr. Nadal, I was listening to you and Janet Parshall about abortion and breast cancer being connected. My question or concern is four years ago, this last May (I was 45), I was diagnosed with breast cancer (I just got a “normal” mamo in Sept). It was contained in the milk duct and not found in the nodes. I never had an abortion or a miscarriage and breast cancer is not in my family history. So I am confused as why I would have gotten breast cancer. I did take birth control prior to and after my first pregnancy, then again after I had my second pregnancy. I had two normal, full-term pregnancies. So I am not sure why I was “blessed” with breast cancer.
Thank you.
Could you please state (even, if it is controversial) your opinion on mamograms? Are they safe? I think the smashing and the extreme pressure actually could release toxins and cause problems.
Also, is there still a risk or correlation with miscarriage & breast cancer? I heard because of the “natural” death of the fetus there was not as much concern? Whereas, with a planned (forgive me I can’t think of the medical term) abortion there is a great correlation.
Thank you, ~Julia
Kathy, I am sure you realize that if you took oral contraceptives that these might have had a toxic effect on your body.
It sounds like you were on bc for most of your fertile years. Essentially you would have spent most of your adult years on hormone therapy.
Mammograms are safe, they save lives. However, this has been found to be a tiny increased risk with multiple mammograms. (I forget the odds ratio, but it is out there somewhere). It is speculated that the radiation exposure (which is minimal but cumulative) may have something to do with the increase, or it just may be hard to statistically separate that those women who get mammograms will have more cancers found than those who do not get mammograms. It is not from squeezing and releasing toxins. True “toxins” in our body do not need pressure to cross cell membranes.
We should remember that no matter what type of cancer, it can arise de novo, that is, without any risk factor. The moles on your arms would turn into melanoma if your body didn’t turn off the growth switch. Think about cancer and risk on a bell curve, not a yes/no question.
