I’m taking a break from blogging until Sunday. It’s Joseph’s first camping trip with the Boy Scouts, and daddy is one of the troop leaders. Exciting time. Joseph is a little apprehensive about his first time sleeping in the woods. I promised him that no bears will have him for breakfast! (No promises about lunch)
Winter was always my favorite time at camp. No mosquitos.
God Bless, all. See you for the Feast of Christ the King.
Hope you have had a fun time! You’re such a good dad!
Isn’t it COOOOOOLD?
I have been on a few winter camping trips in my life, and I’m not sure whether I would choose the cold or the mosquitos (or black flies, in New Hampshire).
Have a safe trip!
L,
It wasn’t so cold. High 40’s by day. Joseph did very well, despite taking a brutally hard fall on his knees with a full pack after tripping on some exposed roots. This was on the 3/12 mile trek to camp. But the men encouraged him, the boys rallied around him, daddy hugged him then sent him along with the boys, and with tear-stained cheeks he made the last 1/2 mile into camp. He did quite well, and all the guys praised him.
A great weekend! Now I’m off to take a nap!
