Raw Agony and God’s Merciful Healing=Silent No More

January 26, 2011 by Gerard M. Nadal

I stand with them every year at the Supreme Court Steps and pray them on through their gut-wrenching testimonies. It’s overwhelming at times, the raw agony, the broken lives, the unrealized potential, the shattered dreams.

The guilt and shame.

The Redemption.

I listen to these post-abortive women’s stories and find myself retreating into a cocoon of scientific analysis as a means of coping with the hours-long deluge of heartbreak poured out on the steps of the building where seven twisted men consigned scores of millions to their deaths.

What percentage of these women felt they had no choice (most)? What percentage were lied to by the doctors about a “blob of tissue” (most)?

I’ve spoken with some of the leaders in SNM and healing ministries, and will be working this year on gathering quantifiable data. However, here is something that can’t be quantified:

The courage, the love, the howling reproach of these mothers and fathers who rail at the lies, the distortions, the parasitism of the abortion industry that exists as a for-profit mercinary institution that had no interest in walking them through all of their options and holding out alternatives before that final, irrevocable, fear-based decision.

To say that I love and admire these people doesn’t do justice to the regard that I have for them. They speak out so that others may avoid the tragedy that inevitably follows the decision that they made. Here are two videos, with more to follow this year.

I’d love to give my testimony on the steps of the Supreme Court. The truth is what will prevail!

Thank you hardly expresses my gratitude to you for your never ending support and love to those hurt by abortion. YOU are one of the reasons we carry on.

    Dr. Gerry,

Thank you for your support, your words of encouragement and always speaking the truth on all the life issues, especially abortion.
The simple task of walking with us in the March for Life is so appreciated. It is a humbling yet prayerful experience for us all.
For those of us who have walked in the pain of the culture of death, we can see a great light. The young people of this generation are standing up for their deceased brothers and sisters because they are being told the truth.
Together, all of us, with the grace of God, will prevail to end this atrocity to the family.

    Mary,

Of all the wonderful and beautiful people who March, there are none so lovely as you women and men of Silent No More, and I consider it an honor to march with you great souls. Certainly none knows the destructiveness more than the mothers, the fathers, and the abortionists. Your great witness flows from your great love, which flows from the great forgiveness and healing that God has lavishly poured out. Thanks so much Mary.

Walking with you to the end of abortion, and beyond!

    Dr. Nadal,

This is a much needed public service. Thank you for providing us this glimpse at the pain, misery and suffering brought about by man’s inhumanity to man.
Translating these stories times the human mothers behind the 41% abortion rate in NYC suggests a misery index burdening every borough of New York in the misery, sorrow and suffering we just heard because you posted the stories of these brave women.
For Mayor Bloomberg, Christine Quinn, Jessica Lappen and the 20 other NYC City Council Members to deny and ignore the misery they inflict on their fellow citizens is one measure of man’s inhumanity toward man.
For ABC Nightline to decry the misery of the poor in substandard housing in our inner cities is to give witness to another measure of man’s inhumanity toward man.
For our federal government to adopt the policies of PPFA and NARAL to “control the population of the undesireables” is another measure of man’s inhumanity toward man.
For our Church and secular culture to deny the parish and school systems as natural settings where the spiritual training and formation in the acquisition of the virtues and reception of the sacraments so we might learn self control is another measure of man’s inhumanity toward man.
Our Lady of Knock, pray for us. Jesus in the garden of Gethsemene, pray for us. Jesus on the Cross, who uttered, “Forgive them, Lord, they know not what they do.”, pray for us.

šŸ™‚ Now that is tempting, I must say!!

  10. on January 27, 2011 at 9:44 PM Mary Catherine

For all of us who can’t be there to march for life, thanks to those who came and were our voices.

I pray for all those moms who have lost their precious babies through abortion. May they come to know the healing power of Jesus.

Gerry – I am delinquent in responding as we were travelling back from DC in the storm on Wed that we have finally recovered from with warmer temps the past 2 days (Thank God!).

I am so honored to say you are my friend and supporter over the past several years. You are a blessing and your research and blog do so much to tell the TRUTH about abortion.

Those of us who are post-abortive and have received healing and forgiveness are the defining voice that cannot be refuted by anyone at any time. The TRUTH will always set you free. Christ promised us that! We can stand on that Truth. It may be challenging getting our stories out, however, we will NEVER stop the fight!

We have been maimed, left infertile, emotionally and psychologically damaged, and some have died (to name just a few consequences). We are the walking wounded and Our Lord uses our woundedness to heal others, to give hope to those who are in pain and don’t know why, to seek reconciliation with Our Lord. We have walked in the darkness of evil and been enveloped by it and yet, that’s WHO our Lord came for….I often think of the woman at the well – Jesus did not condemn, HE LOVED! He brought us OUT – like Lazarus – he raised us from the dead. We will continue to speak out to honor our child(ren) as well as those who cannot speak out of fear or shame (or death) and to bring others forward.

This holocaust WILL end some day – perhaps in my lifetime but more likely in our children’s lifetime. The younger generation clearly understands what is at stake as seen by the numbers of high school and college students that attend the March. Our generation is lost except for the remnant that remains faithful to the teachings of the Church. We will change hearts one at a time just like Our Lord did. We will be SILENT NO MORE! Praise God for his love, mercy and forgiveness and to those in the the prolife community that encourage us to speak out!

THANK YOU for all you do for LIFE!

    God’s Blessings,
    Nicole
