Today Father John Corapi’s Order, SOLT, has published a press release that is heartbreaking. Read it here.
Here at Coming Home, we have had our Novena of Divine Mercy for Father Corapi. Beyond this, there is really nothing to say. Each of us is a servant of our Lord and God. We do His bidding, and we must remain obedient to those in authority over us, remembering that as Paul tells us, all authority comes from God. Father Corapi has been ordered home to SOLT. He needs to go. He needs to heal in body and soul. He needs to be the priest that Blessed Pope John Paul II ordained him to be.
And his following? Father was at his best when he preached the Gospel and the availability of the sacraments. In fifty years I have seen Popes, Bishops, Priests, Deacons, Religious come and go.
The Gospel, the Church, the Sacraments are the only things that endure.
We follow Jesus Christ, and hope in Him alone. It is a hope that Paul tells us will never be disappointed.
Go home to your brothers, Father Corapi. Whatever the truth of the allegations, you are under obedience. God Bless you and we thank you for your witness to Life, to the Truth. The season for healing is upon us all, and the Holy Spirit has Spoken through your superiors. For love of those whose faith may be weak, this final public act of obedience will unite them with the Magisterium, whence they will derive their future guidance and strength. In your humble submission, you will validate everything that you thundered from a thousand pulpits.
Pax Tecum.
I see many will justify their own “cafeteria” ways, thanks to another scandal. Praying for Father Corapi and all who must and mustn’t judge him.
To borrow from St. Joan of Arc, if Father Corapi is not in the state of grace, I pray God will place him there. If Father Corapi is in the state of grace, I pray God will keep him there. For the rest of us, Dr. Nadal is right — there really is nothing more any of us can say about this.
Great article. Amen. I just posted something along these same lines.
May Father Corapi continually be in our prayers.

Prayers are needed for all concerned. But this press release from SOLT proves nothing – guilt or innocence. Where’s the proof? These seems to be in retaliation for Father Corapi standing up for himself and speaking out. The Order can make these claims in order to defend themselves but they haven’t provided any evidence of Father Corapi’s guilt. A statement is not evidence.
Theresa,
What you say is true. However, if SOLT is inventing this wholecloth, they’ve just opened themselves to the mother of all lawsuits. I suspect that much more will come out in the not-too-distant future, but this post is it for me. All that remains to be done on our part is pray.

This is bunch of well you all know, confusion….its fraustration….
Amen brother, obedience and humility since time immemorial is the surest path to what we are all called to be , to be holy., we may not always understand Gods works, or the hows or the whys, but the likes of Padre Pio might explain how, also while i was reading this blog i felt goosebumps, how i wish and pray he reads this one.
Well said; thank you.
“All that remains to be done on our part is pray.”
Amen.
Amen, Gerard, amen.

Go Home to Your Brothers is an article that all ministers and laity will consider humility is the Foundation of virtues , No matter who or what we are we have to consider that our beginning and our end is God. God knows all the truth and He will be the one to judge. Mercy and Justice are parallel and eventually will meet at the end like a terminal on a train ..

The press release details how they performed their investigation. They have seen the evidence and they are this is what the evidence tells them. They can’t possibly include it all in the press release.
I have this to say about it. In the end, the only truly reliable and loyal friends that we or Father Corapi ever has is God, the Church and the Holy Family. If the allegations are correct, then Corapi can go back home, finish his relatively short time remaining on earth in peace with his earthly family, and then live in Paradise for eternity (any person’s time on earth is relatively short). Jesus in His Divine Mercy will take any sinner back no matter what they have done, as long as they agree to His benign terms, whereas the world will relegate them to the gutter, just like in Corapi’s previous life. What’s not to like about that deal! Meanwhile, as far as I can discern there is nothing wrong with his teachings, and if I thought the money would go to the right place (which for now it might not), I would buy up a bunch of his tapes!
We must never forget, there is a reason why God did not allow Corapi to die back in the streets of Damascus all those years ago.
Jesus did NOT obey the Pharisees who were in authority. To do so, would be a Sin. If this is the same situation, Fr Corapi should Not obey SOLT. Jesus will deal with them.
I am afraid Satan is the only one enjoying the Chism which has been implanted into the hearts of all God’s Children over the accusation against Father Corapi. The Catholic Church and Religous Orders which have paid out well over 10 Billion Dollars worldwide has caused all to become “gun shy” of any incident inside or outside of Church property. I am not saying all of these accusers have stolen from the Church through their legal actions because in a few cases abuse was proven involving Priests and other Religous Laity. Again the Fallen thinks he has won in this but as Father Corapi repeated from the Pulpit over and over again “We win in the end.” Jesus you are the Way, Truth and Life. Let Your Will be done in all things from now and into Eternity.
